Ahrens' Family Father's Day

We celebrated Father's day with Chads' family a week late. Everyone headed over to our house for dinner and had a great time hanging out. Hattie is so blessed to have such awesome "big" cousins on her Daddy's side. They really spoil her and take care of her! It's always nice for Chad and I-she's well entertained! We can only hope that she learns from them and grows up to be so considerate and sweet! The new hammock also got worn in that night-of course it wasn't Chad relaxing!

Home, sweet-newly remodeled, home!

Well, our kitchen project is finally completed! I must say-that it was nice having other people do most of the work. The hardest part for us was having to temporarily relocate. It was certainly worth any amount of inconvenience! We celebrated my dad's birthday tonight-so I've included some pictures of that as well!

Here is the before for those who haven't visited, or have forgotten the cream and mauve honeycomb tiles on the countertops! And then the After!!!

Hattie helped me put everything back in the cabinets. When she would get tired, she's longingly look at her cousins' pictures wishing they were here to help her!

Everyone celebrating "Poppy's" birthday!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a busy weekend. We had a rehearsal dinner on friday. Chad was a groomsmen in Zach's wedding on Saturday. Hattie was great right up until Ashley walked down the aisle! Chad told me he could tell where we were sitting from the front when he heard her scream! We were way at the back of a full crowd!!! So, my dad and Hattie missed the whole ceremony. She may have the face of an angel, but she turns into a devil every time we walk through church doors! I'm sure anyone who has worked in our nursery thinks we are crazy to be having another one! Last Wednesday, she cried so hard when I left her-that she made herself sick and threw up on the poor lady working (volunteering!!) in the nursery! Anyways, on Sunday, we went over to my parents for lunch and gifts. Hattie got Chad a new hammock for the backyard. Of course it will be a while until he can relax in it. He's been staying busy with work and finishing up our remodeling. The kitchen will finally be finished tonight! We are having my parents and grandparents over for dinner tomorrow. Our official unveiling! Then Chad can take a much deserved nap in his hammock (I won't even wake him up to change a diaper!).

Staying Busy!
Chad and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary this week! We took full advantage of the occasion by heading down to Corpus for a few days. Hattie stayed with her Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Chase one night, and her Mimi and Poppy another night. We had a great time, although it ended up being a little less relaxing than expected. One of Chad's employees separated his shoulder, so I spent half of the time calling customers to reschedule since Mark was unable to work.
The rest of the week has been equally busy. We are having some remodeling done on our house, so we spent two nights over with my parents to avoid the paint fumes. I must say, it was nice to be away from the phone! I resigned to spend more time with Hattie, but I'm not sure I knew what I was getting in to!!! We have been so extremely blessed with business, however, the constant phone answering gets really old- really fast! I'm so use to taking pictures of Hattie, that I never managed to get a picture of Chad and I at the coast so this is a pictureless blog (is that even acceptable???).
