Spring Break 2012
We started off our Spring Break by taking a drive down to Sugarland to visit my brother and his family. We didn't see the sun for four days, but that didn't stop Hattie and Anderson from having a blast playing with Macy, Harper, and Lexi. Anderson hung in pretty well with the girls. We even got desperate enough to let them play basketball out in the drizzle.
Hattie was treated to a Spa day.
We made plans to go to Enchanted Rock with our small group on St. Patrick's Day...but you know what they say about the best laid plans. By the time we got there at 9:45-the park was already full and they were only letting one car out/one car in. Needless to say, most people weren't leaving at that time. So, we headed into Llano to see what we could find. We hiked around the river, played at the train museum, found a log cabin, ate lunch, played at a park, and for the grand finale...the town was having a FREE dessert tour put on by the local restaurants. So, we signed up and hiked all over town trying samples of all kinds of desserts. I think we walked across the town bridge at least 3 times. We heard that it took 2 hours to get into Enchanted Rock-with 9 kids (2 of them baby babies) it could have been a REALLY LONG 2 hours!

It's Been a While
I've somehow managed to get way behind on my blogging. Here are some of the things we've been up to. We helped my grandparents celebrate their 70th Anniversary and my grandfather;s 90th birthday. We are so blessed to have such examples of an amazing marriage. It's always great getting to see my grandparents interact with all of their great grandchildren And of course the cousins always have a blast together.

Long Weekend
Our small group at church meets every first and third Sunday of each month. So, Wednesday night rolled around and somehow while discussing where to eat on Sunday, we decided to go to the Monster Jam in San Antonio for small group? Not everyone could make it, so it ended up just being three of the families. It was quite an adventure getting there and getting our tickets, but we had a blast! Yes, we really did have to wear ear plugs!!! We had Monday off, so we headed back to San Antonio to the zoo. Hattie's friend, Cameron, went with us. It was such a nice, long, relaxing weekend. It really makes me appreciate my kids ages-being able to drag them around so much and still have a great time!

Awards Assembly
This past Friday was the Awards Assembly for the 3rd six weeks. Hattie received a Reading Award and the Character Counts Award for her class. She will go on a bus tomorrow, with the other Character Counts students (one from each class) to have lunch at Culver's with the principal. She is SO excited and we couldn't be prouder!
Here are some pictures of Anderson's black eye. I love his expression. In the first one he's saying "cheese!" In the next one he's trying to close it for me to take the picture, but can;t help trying to look. The incident reminds me a little of a story from my childhood. Anderson and Hattie were playing with a frisbee. After several requests for him to move, and him deciding not to listen, she threw it anyways and nailed him right in the eye. I had a smiliar experience with a tennis racket and my brother, Philip. Unlike, Philip, Anderson did not require stitches. Hattie has felt pretty bad having to see him walk around with a banged up eye all week. If I never said it, Philip, I'm sorry!
