Hattie turns 5!

Hattie turned 5 on Wednesday. I mean, really? A whole hand? She is at such a fun age. She is opinionated, talkative, and a perfectionist. She got Chad's creative gene-she's very artistic. Hattie gets frustrated easily when she cannot get something right. We've seen this side a lot this summer as she's proven her independence by learning to swim and ride her bike without training wheels. I love listening to her play with Anderson. She is (usually) so sweet and supportive of him. I hear her tell him things like, "Come on, Boy, give it all you got!" and "way to go, Anderson, you are the top champion" even when he's not doing all that well. There are also times when I wonder why I'm around since she is so good at disciplining him. "Anderson-do you know why you are in time out? Because you were throwing your toys! We can't throw toys, Anderson, because they might break or hurt someone and it does not make God happy when we act that way." Well said! Hattie is looking forward to joining me as a Tally Eagle in a few weeks when she starts kindergarten. She's also excited about staring soccer and tap back up. She's been putting on her soccer socks, shin guards, and cleats to practice-even though it's 105 outside! Can't wait to see what all this year has in store for her! For her party, we did a baking theme. We had 11 kids over to the house to decorate cakes. They were so cute. Hattie had such a good time-she's already telling me she wants another baking party next year. My mom and Chad were such great help-by the time the moms came to pick the kids up they'd already cleaned up the whole mess! After the kids left, the grandparents came over for pizza and to celebrate. Thursday we headed in to Pappadeaux's to celebrate my grandmother's 88th birthday! Fun times!

Sweet siblings!

The Party

We had a little extra time-so Tatum entertained the girls with spooky stories around their pretend camp fire and DJed a dance party!

After the cake decorating, Andeson and Carlton found some relief from all the girls by having sword fights in our room.

Chad made the baking girl cake topper for us! He even hand sewed the dress! What a guy!
